Videne Surgical Scrub

Product description

Videne Surgical Scrub is a broad spectrum antiseptic for topical use. It may be used as a hand-wash, for pre-operative hand disinfection by the surgical team, or for disinfecting the site of incision prior to elective surgery.

Usage/Instructions

How to use Videne Surgical Scrub:

Pre operative hand disinfection: after first wetting hands and arms with water, approximately 3.5ml of Videne scrub is applied and rubbed thoroughly onto these areas. A brush may be used to scrub nails. A little water is added to develop the lather and is finally rinsed off with running water.

Warnings

Caution before using Videne Surgical Scrub:

• Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
• Do not use if pregnant as iodine may be absorbed through the skin and may affect thyroid tests carried out on your baby.
• Do not use if breast feeding or on newborn babies.
• It must not be used on broken skin as alcohol could cause stinging.
• If you get this product in your eye, cleanse with a large quantity of water and seek medical attention.
• If swallowed, seek medical attention.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects

Possible side effects from using Videne Surgical Scrub:

• Side effects are rare but may produce skin reactions in iodine-sensitive patients.
• These usually subside when the treatment is stopped.

Ingredients

Videne Surgical Scrub contains:

Active ingredient Povidone-iodine 7.5% w/w (0.75% w/w available iodine). Other ingredients: Alkyl phenol ether sulphate (ammonium salt), glycerine B.P, cocos fatty acid diethenalomide, povidone K90, citric acid, anhydrous sodium phosphate, purified water.
