Benylin Children's Night Coughs provides relief for your child from coughs and congestion. It also helps relieve runny nose and sneezing associated with hayfever and other allergies.

          Usage / Instructions

          • Dose: For oral use only.
          • Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before use.
          • Children 6 to 12 years: Two 5 ml spoonfuls every 6 hours.
          • Not suitable for children under 6 years.
          • Do not use more than 4 doses in 24 hours.

          Do not use for more than 5 days without the advice of a doctor. Do not use to sedate a child. Parents or carers should seek medical attention if the child's condition deteriorates during treatment.

          Do not give with any other cough and cold medicine. Ask a doctor before use if your child suffers from a chronic or persistent cough, if he/she has asthma, is suffering from an acute asthma attack or where cough is accompanied by excessive secretions.

          Diabetics: This product contains sorbitol (carbohydrate content approximately 1.78 g per 5 ml).

          Advice for older children and adults: If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.

          Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist or worsen.

          Warnings

          Warnings relating to Benylin Children's Night Coughs:

          • Do not give your child this medicine if:
          • They have suffered with a bad reaction to this product, or any of the listed ingredients.
          • They have a persistent cough such as occurs with asthma or produces a lot of mucus.
          • They suffer from prostate problems (difficulty in passing water or needing to pass water often).
          • They are taking any other cough or cold medicine.
          • They have narrow eye glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)
          • They are taking drugs for depression known as MAOI's.

          Side Effects

          Side effects relating to Benylin Children's Night Coughs:

          This medicine can have side effects, like all medicines, although these do not affect everyone and are usually mild. If you experience any of the following, stop using the medicine and seek immediate help:

          • Swelling of the face, lips or tongue.
          • Allergic reactions including skin rashes (which may be severe and include blistering or peeling of the skin and itching)
          • Irregular heart rate.
          • Shakiness.
          • Fits or numbness.
          • Difficulty passing water.

          Ingredients

          Each 5 ml of Cough Syrup contains: Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride 7 mg, Levomenthol 0.55 mg

          Also contains: Sorbitol Solution (E420), Ethanol (5 vol %) and Sodium (16.47 mg/5 mL)
